Better Engineering Celebrates With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony That Attracks Local and State Dignitaries

“Better Engineering is an incredible Maryland success story that spans three generations—a company that has grown, evolved and innovated for more than 60 years and continues to bring new investment and new jobs to our state,” said Maryland Commerce Secretary Kevin Anderson. “We’re thrilled to see Better Engineering open their new facility in Harford County, and we wish them great success in the years to come.”

Friday, July 28, 2023, Better Engineering in Joppa, MD, celebrated a successful ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark their new 100,000-square-foot facilities’ official opening. The property, formerly the sound stage for the show House of Cards, was purchased in 2020 just as the pandemic reached the US. The facility closed briefly, and when it reopened the company soared into new levels of success. The timing of the pandemic did not make it feel right to celebrate; the company had to consider its workers’ safety.

Better Engineering’s Company History

Both were WWII Veterans looking for a way to clean automotive automatic transmission parts. After the two worked on a patent for the Torch Converter Flusher, the business quickly gained global notoriety for its innovation as a much sought-after solution for automatic transmissions worldwide. Their dedication to excellence propelled its growth, and the two soon became trusted partners for automotive repair shops, building early models of what is now referred to as a “part washing” systems or industrial part cleaning machines.
