Jay Leno gets a
Clean Express parts washer
to help his shop “Go Green”
As historic car enthusiasts know, Jay Leno is no stranger when
it comes to appreciating rare automobiles. He has collected
a wide selection of vehicles ranging from a 1906 Baker Electric
Car to the most modern cars.
He houses his prized possessions in Southern California at his “Big
Dog Garage”. This facility features a showroom as
well as a separate garage equipped to restore and maintain these
beauties. Almost all of the automotive work is done in-house. To
fabricate parts that are no longer available for some of his
older models, the garage hosts a C&C Mill, a water jet cutter,
sheet metal equipment, a lathe, a regular mill, and welding equipment.
Since Jay’s an advocate for a cleaner and safer environment,
he has been taking every available step to make his garage “Green”.
He uses products that are environmentally friendly and reduce
the amount of toxic chemicals that are released into the
air and water.
In 2004 Jay contacted us about one of our machines that’s
very popular in the auto industry - the Clean Express (CE-2000). It
cleans just about any auto component, from engine blocks to transmission
parts. He was especially interested in it since it uses
a water based solution as opposed to environmentally unfriendly
solvents. This automatic parts washer also offers savings in
time and money...it frees up his mechanics because they
just load the parts into the CE2000, set the timer, push “start” and
walk away. No more hovering over a sink top washer to scrub the
parts clean.

After shipping the Clean Express to Jay, the president of Better
Engineering flew out to California to take a tour of Big Dog Garage. Here
are some pictures he took so you can enjoy his collection as much as we
did! |
