Cleaning system for MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MANUFACTURER to automate washing, rinsing, drying and painting amplifier parts.

Design a Parts
Washing System That
Could Be Connected
to the Customer’s
Painting/Coating
Conveyor Equipment

BACKGROUND
This company is manufacturing several different types of sound equipment for the music industry. These parts are aluminum sheet metal parts (all shapes and sizes), which will eventually be used in the production of amplifiers.

PROBLEM
The parts had previously been washed and dried by hand. The company wanted to automate their cleaning and painting process utilizing an existing monorail system. To be awarded this order, Better Engineering had to meet the following requirements: a) design a pass-through monorail system capable of washing, rinsing and drying nearly 3,000 pieces per day (of various sized parts), b) the system had to adapt to the customer's existing monorail system, and c) help the customer design handing "tree" fixtures that could hold the full array of parts in a suitable orientation for cleaning, drying, and painting.

SOLUTION
Customize a 3 module C-24 Cyber-Jet system such that parts could move thru the system via the existing monorail or on a conveyor belt. to handle the monorail fixtures, the unit needed 48" of work height and the roof needed to be slit the full length of the system. this opening required innovative structural and sealing details.

SYSTEM
A three (3) module wash/rinse/dry system which has an overall length of 27 feet. The canopies were stretched vertically for work height and horizontally to retain water without conventional spray curtains.
